During September 2026, I submitted stories to three publications, including Electric Spec (5th sub, 1 hold request, 1 publication), Translunar Travelers Lounge (1st sub), and The Phantom Pulse (1st sub)
I also received three rejections from publications, including Betascape Magazine (1st rejection), More Distant Shores (1st rejection), and the Writers of the Future Contest (2nd sub, 2 Honorable Mentions).
The story I submitted to the Writers of the Future Contest was voted Honorable Mention for the quarter. This is the second Honorable Mention I have received from them since I started this blog, and the fourth in total. In fact, all four stories I submitted received an Honorable Mention.
The submission to Electric Spec is actually the same story I sent back in February. It turns out they never received it. Oh well, that’s why it’s good to follow up, even if the submission guidelines expressly state not to do so.
After August, we are back to a fairly quiet month, but I hope to change that, with new short stories I’m polishing and will be ready to submit soon.
